A Sister can be built-in best friend. Not only did you have a Sister, you had a friend for life, until fate stepped in. No need back then to worry about who would be your first child’s godmother.
Whether you were both standing up against our Mother telling you that you were not going out dressed like that or your Father saying your were choosing the wrong career path or lamenting a sticky situation no matter the topic, you knew your Sister would always side with you.
Your Sister could be your sounding board. If you ever needed advice, needed to vent your anger or just needed to share a story, your Sister was always there to listen, commiserate or celebrate. That one person you knew you could always go to for an unbiased opinion. Well, maybe not completely unbiased…she did, after all, take your side quite a lot. But she also provides lots of solid advice and guidance, just like a sister should.
Your Sister was that someone who wasn’t afraid to tell you when you were being ridiculous. Your Sister kept you grounded and wasn’t afraid to call you out or tell you when you were being absolutely stupid.
Your Sister was that person who could not go any length of time without making contact, by whatever means, even if you sometimes were on the far side of the world from each other
Your Sister was, perhaps, the first person you contacted when something good (or bad) happened, no matter the news you knew know she’d be there to support you either way.
Your Sister was someone who knew all your little shortcomings and still loved you anyway. She could list a dozen of your failings or flaws and you could definitely name a few of hers, but it didn’t matter. It was a sister thing…
You thought your sister was forever. Would be there forever. No matter where we end up in life, whether we’re near or far from each other, having a sister meant having a bond that truly could never be broken. Until fate stepped and deemed otherwise.
Why not tell your sister’s story and pay Tribute to her here and now on Friends Past. A Tribute that will endure for ever and ever…
